Off The Record
Music has always fascinated me. When I couldn’t speak Yuroba, and before I could master Bahasa Melayu, or even speak French that well, I noticed that music was a universal language of its own.
People feel each other’s sentiments, convictions and passions through it. It transcends boundaries, lifting each person above a verbal articulation of themselves.
I play the recorder, tin-whistle and flute badly, and try to sing a bit! I enjoy listening to many different genres, and am always impressed by how music can transform our lives and the world around us for the better.
Having produced a couple of albums, I’ve become a director of Off The Record, an independent record label managing and promoting unsigned artists. I manage Shaefri through it. She’s brilliant, and you can watch her videos or listen to her here, she released her sophomore EP, ‘Girl’, recently which has been critically acclaimed by The Sunday Times Culture, Clash Magazine, Irish Tatler, DIY, Earmilk & Hot Press, among others.
